Ch 2
It was bright spring day the city sighed a breath
of relief, no murders occurred for months. But it finally happened. This time it was a complete slaughter of seven bodies
found in a warehouse strangled but this time lynched with their bodies dangling from the ceiling, oddly they weren’t
children but they were adult black males, but like before a note was left, a scripture quote from Exodus.
And the Lord said to Moses, "When you go to return to Egypt, see that you do all those wonders before Pharaoh,
which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart, so that he shall not let the people go. And you shall say to Pharaoh,
'Thus said the Lord, "Israel is my son, my firstborn. And I say to you, Let my son go, that he may serve me; and if you refuse
to let him go, behold, I will slay your son, your firstborn."(Exodus 4:21-23)
"I wanted to have a small conference with you about your progress on the bible verse case," said the captain.
Shaheed looked at him with a small smirk on his face, so I guess it’s officially a serial killer, you’ve already
given the perp his title. Whatever, this case is becoming prolonged and difficult, so I want you to take a ride out to the
University of Connecticut to speak to Dr. Hofei Bologa, he is a professor of African religions, psychology and folklore, look
at it this way the long ride to the campus will give a chance for you to clear your mind and also, there’s nothing wrong
with some fresh insight from someone else. Shaheed gave one of his patented stares and looks but he found out a long time
ago to acquiesce to those who you’re superiors, the best way to get along with the boss is the
stroke his ego.

"I don’t know how this is supposed to help my investigations, there’s nothing new about Black folks being lynched,
"said Shaheed. That’s very true but that’s not what I wanted you to actually see, take note and look at the impressions
of the white participants, notice their eyes, look closely at the first clip, the lyncher’s eyes are glazed over and
looks possessed , doesn’t ,he? Shaheed watched dozens of clips and all of them were the same the whit e crowd was in
frenzy like people who were possessed by an unknown entity. When you commit such evil acts of murder and body disfigurement
you open yourself up to the devil and demon forces. Just look at them Shaheed, there are possessed by the Satan. The man you
are pursuing isn’t a normal everyday criminal but he is possessed by Lucifer.
My theory or hypothesis is that the evil was perpetrated by 4oo years of lynching that not only affected the
Black man but also it manipulated the soul of white people. The iniquity was formed and developed itself into an evil metamorphoses
that has been ingrained into this society. Your serial killer is a manifestation of that evil. He has gained the deposits
of many leagues of satanic behavior. He does not think he is portraying the part of the Reaper, for him he is the devil.
Your postulations are very interesting but as a doctor and a detective, I have to depend on factual evidence
and not the spirits.
I lock criminals up and not the devil, you commit a crime and I gather the evidence to arrest you from whom a jury perceives
your guilt or innocence. Dr Shaheed, I’m quite sure you have seen the
forces of evil, haven’t you? Yes I have. I knew that would be your answer, the man or if you could call
him a man is a depository of hate and evil. His hate has harvested for hundreds of years and has finally manifested into the
evil you see today. He is not one man but many, the disease of the heart has manifested itself into his DNA, I know its hard
to believe but listen to me for a moment, a man like Jeffrey Dahmer committed cannibalism in a modern city of the US, where
could someone like him appear from, was it his upbringing or was it his environment, you would have to agree with me it’s
the evil that’s embedded in him. I could agree with you on some of things you’re saying, professor but I could
explain all the examples you’re stating as being aberrations, the insanity is in all of us but every so often we have
nuts that are born to the world.

Shaheed was back to the logical world he knew, the police precinct, thank God, he said to himself, back to
reality. Nothing seemed to change the hustle and bustle of the precinct was still in effect. The wall, which represented a
Mount Everest of terror and evil ,that wall of murdered children stuck out like a sore thumb, it was the Berlin Wall, and
it was never disassembled because more humans were pined to its exterior, innocent faces. They were young and with potential
and this bastard had to be stopped. I don’t care if he’s human are a demon I plan to cut off his fuckin head and
send him to hell, Shaheed , thought to himself.
